Weddings
If you are thinking about celebrating your marriage at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in the Valley, we would welcome your enquiry.
On this site there are details and arrangements about weddings at Trinity the Valley. If you would like to see the church, it is open most days, or you can visit on a Sunday morning, or phone or e-mail us so you can make a time to visit and wander around inside.
To collect all the details needed from those who would like to be married, use either of the following methods:
- Submit the details of your wedding online. If you supply an email address you will receive a confirmation email containing your details.
- Print the downloadable information form (PDF) and either fax or mail it to us.
But first, if you would like to proceed with your celebration here at Trinity, please could you phone us or email us to check on a day and date and maybe make a time then to come to see the priest (generally after your work hours on weekday evenings).
We need to have as much notice as possible so that we can organise and prepare, comply with government regulations and also make sure that any intended or planned date is kept free for you.
For the first appointment you will need to bring birth certificates (full certificates are needed), baptism certificates and any other papers which pertain to a previous marriage. Also, if the parish priest has not received the details or your wedding, you need to bring a completed and printed information form or submit the details of your wedding using the online wedding application. If using the online form, it would be wise to bring the data entered as well—usually from the confirmation email you receive—even though the parish priest will receive the details from your online application.
Some things are necessary for marriage in the Church. At least one of the couple must be baptised. We need also to tell you that there is no automatic re-marriage of divorced persons (although a dispensation can be granted - please ask us about this). If one of the couple is from another denomination and would like a priest or minister from that denomination to assist at the wedding, this too is not a problem.
There may be lots of questions about arrangements that you may want to ask. Please don't hesitate to make a list of these and ask questions when you come for an interview, or simply phone us if something isn't quite clear.
In the meantime, we hope that all your planning and preparations for a wedding you plan go really well.
