Preparation
Preparation for the celebration of your marriage is handled through the Priest. He will take you through the service, work out arrangements with you, discuss your coming marriage and take you through a rehearsal, as well as undertake the paper work required by the marriage laws.
Music
The selection of music for your wedding is important and you will need to contact and consult with the Parish Organist, Robert Dearness on 0412 9529 869, well before your wedding date. He will be able to meet with you and help you in all your music requirements.
Any songs you want sung need approval as some are inappropriate, and visiting singers and soloists will need to make a time to rehearse so that all music sounds good and is good. Probably, the organ sounds best in this church as quartets and trios tend to be a little underpowered and too soft for this sized building.
Recorded music or backing is NOT permitted at all because of performing rights laws and liability affecting the church.
Choir or soloist
The Trinity Choir can sing at your wedding if requested. If you want the choir (or are engaging a soloist), speak to the organist when you arrange the music. The choir is an extra $100.
Flowers
Flowers are usually arranged for you, unless specifically organised otherwise. We will ask about colours and selection details at one of your interviews. If you desire to have flowers placed in the church, the flowers remain there afterwards. Bows for pews can be personally organised or we can provide them for you at no extra cost.
Photography
In planning, please note that photography and video-recording is by prior arrangement. It is necessary for any photographer to consult with the priest immediately before the wedding. Photographers working in co-operation are a real asset to your day.
Car parking
For guests, street parking is fairly good in Church, Brookes and Wickham Streets. The Council car park in Church St has 70 places and is free on weekends. Some limited car parking is also available in the churchyard especially for the elderly and disabled, or the Trinity Centre car park at 9 Church Street.
For the bridal party, we reserve a no standing zone right in front of the church steps for wedding cars. (Please tell drivers that wedding cars need to come in from Wickham Street)
Commemorative service leaflets
A leaflet or booklet for the guests is needed to enable them to join in and participate. A leaflet is as simple as photocopying or can be produced in a folder or on a card. [We have some samples.] The data and assistance for the preparation of this leaflet (and perhaps its production) will be available at one of your interviews.
Refreshments following the service
Drinks after the wedding service for guests can be served for you if you desire. Simply tell us at the wedding interview with the priest and it will be booked in for you with Trinity Guild. You will need to provide drinks—champagne, wine, juice, et cetera—which can be brought along at your rehearsal date for refrigeration. Drinks are served for your guests by the Guild. Food/cake also as provided can be served. The cost is $2 per head.
How much? Wedding contribution...
The complete and all inclusive contribution for a wedding at Holy Trinity is $600. This includes the music, the flowers, arrangements, bows and the church fee.
Not sure of the details? Please simply ask us. [Soloists or other musicians personally engaged are not included here.]
Payment of a contribution is at the rehearsal time please.
